  • Changing the drive letter

Hi, i'm new and hardly know anything about computers than how to play on it.

I have a problem with an older game that wants to read the "cd" from my real driver (dvd-player), wich is (D, but the file is in drive (E (in my daemon tool).

Can i somehow make the game read from the right drive?

    Hi Wiromax

If the game is really older than you should change the assigned letters to those drives.

Do a right-click on you "My Computer" icon on the desktop
    Chose: Manage

    A window opens: Computer Management
    Choose: Disk Management

There you will see your drives listed.
With a right click on a drive icon you can change the assiged letter to that drive.
    Just to suggest:
change your real dvd-rom to f:
change the virtual drive to d:
(change your real dvd-rom to e: - not really needed)

This may should work to run the game.

You can switch drive letters, but most of the time you can edit the drive the game reads from in the registry.

However since you said you didn't know much about computer it might be hard. But I think it's the better way to do it because if you have setup many things using the current drive letters it could cause complications.

It really shouldn't but it could. If you are willing to research I think you should go change it in the registry.
