  • SPTD keeps rebooting my machine

Downloaded dt4, ran install, rebooted and at startup the machine reboots. Booted in safemode and renamed the file, boot back to windows. Fair enough, but how to get dt4 to work...?

    Specs:

    MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum - latest drivers (6.70)
    Gainward 7800GTX - 81.94
    AMD X2 4800+
    1GB Corsair XMS 3200LL

Please specify your OS version and check if you have any related minidumps in Windows\Minidump folder.
    When exactly it reboots?

      sorry 'bout that.
Win XP Pro SP" w all hotfixes.

As I have auto-login, I would say right after where I would have put in my user/pass.
No dump at all (last minidump is 14 days old). No BSOD, just reboot.

Windows XP SP2 w all hotfixes.
Just standard MS software, as the machine is mostly a gaming pc.

As I have auto-login, I would guess that the machine boots right before or right after you would have put for user/pass.

It creates no dump file and I get no BSOD, just a reboot.

If it's a gaming pc, do you have any Starforce protected games installed? If so remove their drivers and try again. Check thread about BSOD in SCSIPORT.SYS in common problems and solutions forum.

            Well...

Uninstalled every SF game, ever the cracked once.
            Removed all drivers
            Removed SFCure
Cleaned the registry manually for ALL traces of SF/SFCure

            Still nogo...same issue...

            Guess I need a reinstall...

Do you have a minidump available (in Windows\Minidump folder) related to that BSOD/crash? If so send newest file to support@daemon-tools.cc with reference to your post in this thread.

Had same thing here, only I get BSOD instead of reboot
(my machine is configured to act like that)

Figured out that DT4 messes UATA disk DMA mode in some cases, so I had to remove DT4 completly and reinstall primary IDE controler driver.

So I guess this is DT4 bugg.

                  and sorry for my english.

I have the same problem as dr_k. reboots always when dt are started, creates no error masseges or even a minidump... just reboots.

I have run the sf remove tool as descripte in the BSOD in SCSIPORT.SYS thread, then I tried to uninstall dt, but the unistall.exe didn't run. so removed all the files as descipte in the remove thread, rebooted and started a new install... still the same problem...

I have like dr_k win xp pro, sp2 with all the patches and I also have a Athlon X2...

                    specs:

                    Asus A8N-SLI premium
                    Athlon X2 3800+
                    MSI NX6600GT, (and a 6200er)
                    1GB ram

well, i guess i'm not the only one with a nforce4 motherborad, but i still have a weird feeling this is ide driver related. will try a fresh windows install on another disk once i get home from work, will post the results. If that does not work, i'll try some generic ide drivers.
