  • Window error after removing device with image

    DT V4.00
    OS: W2K3, no SP
Other emulation software not used, no burning software

I keep my cd-images at DVDs
When I mount one of those images and then eject the DVD and try to go to My Computer (for example), Windows will try to get access to cd and will raise the error : There is not disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into dirve X:.
Pressing any of buttons (Try Againg, cancel..) doesn't helps - window is showing by the loop.

I can resolve it only by inserting DVD with that image...

In DTv3.47 this problem doesn't exists.

    (ps. sorry for my enlish)

    ...

Is the the error message indicate a missing disc on your real physical DVD or the drive letter of one of your virtual driver?

I'd enable AIN (Auto Insert Notification).

The error message is indicate a missing disc on my real physical DVD.

      D: DVD-ROM
      E: Virtual.

When I eject dvd on D: that contains image mounted in DT as drive E: - Windows will show the message
There is not disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into dirve D:.

        ...

The the error message is indicate a missing disc on my real physical DVD

        Quick way to reproduce:

        D: Real DVD-drive
        E: Virual

        1. Inserting a dvd in drive D.
        2. Mounting via DT some image at disk D.
        3. Ejecting dvd from D.

Now there's 2 ways. If ejecting of dvd was shortly ago - you can go to the My Computer window without error and open virtual disk E:. Overwise you will got the error right now.

        4. Entering virtual drive E.
        5. Open some file.

        Windows will show next error:
There is not disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive D:.

DT cannot unmount this image! I must insert the dvd into D: to unmount it
Windows is blocking all my actions until I insert the image.

Would this/these disc(s) be protected by SecuROM? I know in the past it's locked the virtual drives so there was problems unmounting.

lol, I didn't even catch that coldheart. You're absolutely right. If you're mounting an image from a DVD, you have to leave that DVD in the drive while the image is mounted. Though that's still not as funny as the people who wanted to know how to use DT/Alcohol to boot from a mounted image, heh.
