daemon tools setup error

cheers,
while trying to install daemon tools 4.00 i recieve an internal setup error and i am unable to complete installation. im running win xp sp2, i did have alcohol installed but i removed that first rebooted and tried to install daemon tools. i have no other emulation software installed. ive once used sd4hide and somone said that the problem could be there, but gave no info on any remedies, ive searched and read the forums to no avail. any help on this matter would be great
