64 bit Deamon on intel

  • 64 bit Deamon on intel

    When i installed the 64 bit version of deamon tools i noticed that it said amd at the top ....i have an intel dual core processor and after i installed it and brought up the task manager, i noticed that it was running in 32 bit mode....is that soposed to be right should it be doing that or is it cuase i don't have an amd processesor?..(i formated my comp with a clean install of windows xp 64 bit proffesional)

    It should be fine the main thing that is 64bit is the driver, I'm pretty sure the rest of Daemon-Tools is 32-bit

      AMD64 is a common name for the x86-64 technology, which allows for "native" processing of both 32-bit and 64-bit instructions. Intel EM64T is based on this technology (the only important difference is the name).. AMD developed it, hence the name "AMD64". For more information, please see the following Wikipedia article:


      The Daemon Tools manager application (daemon.exe) is 32-bit, the drivers are 64-bit on x64 version (dtscsi.sys and SPTD).
