  • New way to destroy starforce w/o unplugging drives!!!!

well there have been several threads speaking about the problems regarding starforce. Well i have a new way to bypass starforce with optical drives plugged in. here are the steps that one must follow:

1.Install the game(starforce protected game) by mounting the images
    2.Shutdown the pc
3.unplug the cables of the optical drives
    4.Start the pc
5.Mount the image in the virtual drive created by daemon tools
6.start the game(now the game will surely work with the optical drives cables plugged out)
7.Shut down the pc. plug in the optical drives cable
8.Start the pc but dont run the game
9.Go to the device manager and go to view and select 'show hidden devices'
    10. Go to Non plug and play drivers
11.Now youll find 4 drivers regarding starforce
12.Uninstall all 4 of them and reboot the pc
13.After rebooting, run the game it will surely work

Any questions or suggestions are welcomed

    Enjoy..
    Joel

I tried your way but still not working ...and you mentioned that there are four drivers in the hidden devices in device manager but i found about 8 drivers (it seems to be some old versions of starforce...by the way, they all start with the word starforce) ....can you please tell us what are the exact names of the hidden drivers ??! and why your method didnt work to me ?!

normally the game should not start without SF drivers installed.
i did not test it yet, but i dont think it'll work for me.

It will just re-install the drivers and ask you to reboot.

Joel never mentioned the game(s) his method worked for. If it did work for him perhaps it was an older version of SF.

                Maybe he meant:

"13.After rebooting, run the game from the original cd, it will surely work"... lol

                  POP T2T
                  Brian lara intl cricket2005

                  and this is not crap.,....

                    yeah might be
but i think if this method only works for himself, and who knows if it does, a mod could close this here...

I will write to you Step by Step of what to do and you follow the steps and i'm sure the game will work....
1.First Make a full image of the original game* using Alcohol 120%
2.Mount the image with deamon tools 4 and run the install from the image and not from the Dvd.
3.unplugg all the Dvd drives(Cd drives are not needed)
4.and now just enter a serial number and enjoy.

Hey, joel, do you own a Nforce 3/4 motherboard?

I'm asking this because your method did not work for me (I have a ASUS mobo), and people who have Nforce 3/4 mobos are able to play starforce 3.6 games (such as POPT2T, King Kong and KOTT 2) just by mounting the .mds file without unplugging IDE optical drives or using starforce nightmare or other IDE jammers.

Then you method may be considered as successful, but this Nforce thing is nothing new for people in this forum...

Is it so impossible to FAKE a starforce driver? Surely, there must be a simple trick that everyone missed. It can't be that difficult, can it? (i noticed when a problem is quite impossible to solve, the simplest solution most of the time does the trick).
Btw, im a newbie at programming so dont flame me with "OHH,so TELL US HOW!" Please, have some pitty on me.
