  • Disable Autoplay

    Hi,

This tool is great i enjoy using it.

I disabled xp's autoplay feature (in fact crippled it delibarately) and now it doesn't run any autorun.inf junk when I insert any disk or double click but it is still able to show icons and receive hardware notifications.

But virtual drives like to enable it again and again when i unmount/mount an image and also the hard one is enabled again.

Is it possible to add a "Don't load AutoPlayHandler interface" option to DAEMON or any other way to disable it?

    You make great software.

    (BTW i removed entries under \HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AutoplayHandlerProperties\CLSID \
    and \HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AutoplayHandlerProperties\CLSID \
in addition to other ways of disabling autoplay)

      ...

Have you seen the Auto Insert Notification checkbox in DAEMON Tools 4.xx or is that method not good enough to suit your purposes?

          holding shift

What if you hold shift while mounting (yes, i know this is annoying, i'm just curious if this would work)?

if you go to start->run-> gpedit.msc

              then go to
              computer configuration
              administrative templates
              system

then look in the right for 'Turn off Autoplay', ope it and enable it on CD-ROM drives or all drives, whatever you prefer
