Hello,
I am yet another developer interested in creating virtual drives.
Seeing as how DT not only works but works quite well, the developers must know what they're doing. Do you, the developers, have any pointers of how to get started in creating device drivers for virtual devices? (I've created simple drivers with trivial capabilities, but nothing on the order of an ATAPI device.)
After googling for an eternity, I've come to the conclusion that either there isn't much information out there or it's being jealously guarded.
Of particular interest are how to make the virtual device masquerade as an IDE/SCSI controller/drive and the necessary ioctl/api functionality, but any information would be appreciated!
Thanks.
