Good news. One of the reasons I still keep A-Ray scanner around is because of the simple, intuitive interface.

lite mode will be a different exe, sort of like dt lite -> dt everything else.. for those people who wouldn't use the extras the full version has to offer, it will also be about 200kb smaller..

Why not just a button or menu item to switch to 'lite' mode? Or even better: let the program start in lite mode, with a button to switch to advanced mode. That way it won't look overwhelming at startup (because with all those buttons it would probably be hard to find the 'lite' button)

I agree, Ptolomeus. I think they should have a leaner version that does nothing but scan for copy protections, and then a bulkier version for all the extra cra....err, stuff that they want to include with it.

As you said, I appreciate the time and effort they put into this, but it's too much. It needs to be slimmed down.

Tried it on Anno 1701 which has Tages, didnґt find any protection on the dvd!?
Di you try scanning the install directory on your hard disk?

That's something I can't remember. Pretty sure it's always *random*.cds though. I only have 1 disc protected by CDS that I can think of ATM. 'A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step' if anyone's interested.

cheers, i'll try researching it, i have no audio disks with protection here so currently any of the scanning code for this will be theory (unless cdkiller has a protected audio disk)... for example, is the yucca.cds generic amongst all cactus data shield protected disks etc...

CDS200 == Cactus Data Shield is a copy protection not some kind of DRM so it should be easy enough to add. I have a protected disc here somewhere IIRC. (edit: I do, the presence of an 800MB dummy file named yucca.cds reveals it, as well as a copy protection label on the disc itself.)
I'm pretty sure Key2Audio is similar.

Congrats on getting PID v6 public beta out, looks promising.

    Great program!
Any chance for adding audiocd protection detecting?
Although the program size is still small,it's loaded with some features that have nothing to do with protection scanning.Wouldn't mind to see those repleaced with some CDS200 or Key2Audio discoverers...

By the way, one more option might be to "clear" the log window, so we don't have to close PID to clear it.
try right clicking in the windows...

a lot of things in pid6 have context menus when right clicked.. like the folderwatch etc..

    *EDIT2*
No, PID v5 didn't have a filter on it.
hmm think you're right, well at least the public one didnt...
my memory is a bit fuzzy about v5, compared to v6 its a dinosaur heh
