How do I resolve this error? Sims pets

I downloaded a game with utorrent. I used the Daemon software to install the game, I entered the serial code that came with the info file, I grab the crack exe from the folder throw it on the desktop and double click. The game runs and the opening movie starts ( Sims 2 pets, it's for the wife )

After the movie runs I get an error message. There are no words just an exclamation point and a red circle with a X in the middle.

Can anyone tell me where I went wrong? Do I need to try a different code? The info file had 5 codes, I just used the first one on the list and it seeminly accepted it.
