    Unable to use Daemon tools.

    I am also unable to use "other" software which does a similar thing. After talking with many people and troubleshooting for a while it seems that my base windows CD drivers are missing. I am able to mount an image, but no drive letter shows up for it, and nothing shows up under My Computer. Despite the fact that my CD/DVDrom drive works fine, CDROM.sys does not exist anywhere on my system. How can I obtain and install cdrom.sys and any related files without having to reformat/reinstall windows?
