  • Support for more formats

    Hello,

It would be great, if you would implement support for more formats in future versions of Daemon Tools.

    Here is a small list:

    *.dvd (New CloneCD Image format)
    *.img (CloneCD Image)
    *.vc4 (Virtual CD Image)

    Thank you!

    Regards,

    TBI

Edit: It's very strange, that I have to wait before my posts are there.

There is already clonecd support (.ccd).
.img is supported but not listed in the supported image files. Just choose All files(*.*) and then the .img file which you want to mount, its working.
But .img is not a correct cd/dvd image file format, therefore it isn't listed in the supported images.

      Thanks for the quick answer.

Well, I know about the .ccd support. But .dvd is a new one, that is supported by virtual clonedrive for example.

Ok, .IMG seems to work fine. Thx for the info.

I think *.UIF or *.DAA may not be possible, but should be pretty nice to have them supported by Daemon Tools due to compressed ISO format... anyhow im aware that they aren't free formats (that's why i've said it may not be possible)...

What's the reason? Maybe to burn much more that 6 CDs (triple of more) to a single DVDs or just store them into your gigantic HDD to save space in the shelf... another good factor is the MD5 checksum inside them (at least in the *.UIF) to verify if they are good or damaged (ISO doesn't have that sadly).

Use RAR, ZIP, 7z, GZip as alternative? well, that formats aren't designed for mouting... and may require full decompression to HDD.
