  • 1:1 copy & SecuROM 7

Hello. I have a quick question or two that I'm somewhat puzzled over and would appreciate some help with.

I have a game protected with SecuROM 7 (7.00.00.0001). I would like to make a working backup of this game, a 1:1 copy so no additional tools are required to play it and no cracks are required. Is it currently possible with the right software/hardware?

If so what tools do I need? Alcohol 120%? CloneCD? Etc.

    Thanks.

That depends on the game, the version number of SecuROM doesn't tell you what protection features are activated. Generally I'd recommend installing Alcohol 120% only, especially SlySoft products (CloneCD, CloneDVD, AnyDVD) are frequently blacklisted.

Create an image with Alcohol 120% using the Securom *NEW (4.x/5.x) profile and a low DPM extraction speed (it'll ask you right before it start reading the disc). You'll need additional tools to bypass the SCSI blacklist, maybe you'll need to unplug your optical IDE drives as well.
