  • BSOD after Hibernate! (maybe only on X2 Dualcore)

    Hi,

I installed latest DT 4.03 and had BSOD after hibernate (X32 and X64-bit), the system is fresh, with latest drivers of all components.

I tracked down the problem and it seems DT 4.03 cant handle my dual core CPU X2 3800+(???). I got DT 4.03 running perfectly on my second machine, which is an A64 3000 single core. no problems with hibernate there.

I deactivated the SPTD part via regestry, and hibernate works again!

if you need a minidump (100kb) give me your email address, and I send it to you.

Please send the dump unpacked (i.e. not ZIP'ed nor RAR'ed etc.) to support@daemon-tools.cc with reference to this thread.

                  Try uninstalling the optimizer too.

                  *change optimizier to optimizer.

maybe it helps: hadn`t installed the dualcore optimizer.

but its "nice" it can be reproduced. i also recogn. some other strange system hangs too. seems daemon tools (SPTD?) related also... what it was? freezing on starting the machine. when win is started and the desktop appears it freezes! not often, but every 10-50 startup of windows. ok.. why i think its daemon tools related? i started this thread with a fresh installed (true image, makes things easier ) backup of winxp. without daemon tools installed till now... the freezing problem is also gone. maybe i'am wrong, but it should be investigated too. thx for the nice support

Any news on this? There's a new version of Daemon Tools out but this problem still remains. Is it already clear what causes this problem (except the fact that it affects systems with dual core processors)?

Can anyone tell me the status of this problem? It seems there isn't any solution yet.

Did you tried Daemon Tools 4.08 and SPTD 1.38?

SPTD 1.38 is included in Alcohol.
