      BTW: Which OS do you have?

      Maybe only autorun is disabled.
      Copy the following text into a
      textfile and then save this file as
      a .reg file and execute it.
      Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Cdrom]
      "AutoRun"=dword:0000001

      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
      "allocatecdroms"="0"

      [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer]
      "NoDriveTypeAutoRun"=dword:00000095

                You should then try
                TweakUI to enable
                the autorun feature.

                    Hm, then the problem
                    might be even worse.

                    Let me think about it...

                      Lets hope we can sort it out for you...

                      Is your O/S (operating system) on IDE or SCSI/SATA drives?

                            Ok, try uninstalling Daemon-Tools and/or Alcohol 120%/52%...
                            Then you must also uninstall the SPTD driver, for info on how to do this check here
                            reboot your pc... is your drive still giving problems?
