  • Homeworld (Original) protection?

I have been trying to back up my original Homeworld CD. I tried most if not all of the plugins and no success.

I tried scanning with A-Ray, ProtectionID and even ClonyXXL, no indication of what protection is on there.

    Anyone have success with that?

Ok, I can't get it to run, though. It insists that I put the disc in drive D: even though I installed from the imaged drive.

I've got around this before by putting any disc in drive D, but it fails here.

It probably uses some simple CD check, which only checks the first CD driveletter (D: in your case).

Is D:\ a HDD or an optical disc drive? If it's an optical disc drive, use disc management (Start -> Run -> discmgmt.msc) to remove your optical drive's drive letter and assign letter D to your virtual drive. Does this work?

Hmm, that seemed to work. A virtual drive might as well come first, I use them way more than actual drives.

            Thanks for the idea.
