  • can't get a crysis image

hi very very new to the daemon tools utility, have bought the pro advanced edition and so far managed to mount kane & lynch and also r6 vegas.
having big probs trying to get an image of crysis, i own the game btw, but on trying to secure image using the create image in daemon tools, using new securom option emultaions on and off no difference, i get an error after it starts on the dpa bit at start, DPM assosiation call failed.
    disc imaging failed!

    any idea's folks?
the crysis dvd seems in good condition.
have tryed using alcohol120% to and it fails too.
    please help.

OK, what drive you used? Also have you tried different dpm speeds?
Make something idiot proof, but then they just make a better idiot

create the crysis image with alcohol 120 version 1,97 6221
Alcohol is CD / DVD burning copying backup recording duplication emulation and creation software.

use the image assistent and set it to securom(4-5-7)
then installed the game from the virtual drive.
Use yasu with deamon tools, and it should be work.
        you didn't need disable dma.

          @rded5
Which drive(s) do you have ?
Have you tried different DPM speed settings, yet ?

P.S.: Enable your DMA and don't produce heavy load during DPM

Hi. I have crysis that i bought and decided I need a disc image after the disc had a small scratch and i didn't want to have to buy a new one. I got the disc cleaned and used one of the latest daemon tools to create my disc image using the new securom plugin. It worked perfect except i have to make my virtual drive attach to my physical drive and than the game ran perfect. I just also would like to know how to make a image for crysis so that it under a GB and still works

Just use the Convert Image function as described here:

Note that you won't see the volume name and can't browse the content of the resulting Mini Image in Windows Explorer.
But you can start Crysis as usual via the desktop shortcut.

Thanx. Took my full mds/mdf disc image and converted it to mdx with compresion and clear sectors starting at 17 and it worked. The size is only a couple kb and it works. I must also state that my virtual drive is always attached to my physical drive

Crysis has a quite tough SecuROM version, but using the virtual IDE drive (without attaching) should be enough to beat it.
