I don't know if this is the right place to post this kind of inquiry but I was comparing the prices of external enclosures and a new external DVD writer... It seems that it would be better to just get a new writer! What do you think about this model?

Never heard of that model, but i can recommend a LG GGW-H20L.

If you don't want BluRay, i can recommend a LG GH20NS10-

That model appears to be an internal but I am looking for a good external for a reasonable price... that way it will be easier when it comes to having to unhook it! Any suggestions?

There are adapters which perfectly work.

I can't seem to find that model at Newegg, is there any other model that they carry that you would recommend... internal or external... and if it is an internal, could you please suggest an external enclosure? I would really appreciate it!

Sorry for the late answer, somehow i haven't seen your reply.

You only need a normal Sata to USB adapter - vendor doesn't matter.

What particular brand of writer would you recommend as the best?

I prefer LG - never had a problem with these drives.

It depends on where you live.

Here is another offer from Amazon UK:
Amazon.co.uk: LG GH20NS10 AUAR10B 20x DVDRW SATA Black Retail Kit: Electronics & Photo
