  • Does DEAMON Tools assign drive letter that belongs to a network drive?

    Hello,

I have a couple of questions regarding the deamon.exe -mount command I wonder if I could please get some help.

When I issue this command :

    deamon.exe -mount 0, "E:\aaabbb.img"

    - Is there a possibility that the DAEMON Tools will assign a
drive letter that already belongs to a network drive to be the
    virtual drive?

    - If there is, does this happen when the network is down or
    up or both?

    - Lastly, if the DAEMON Tools does assign a drive letter that
already belongs to a network drive, is there any work-around
to this problem so that the DAEMON Tools would only assign
a drive letter that is "completely free"?

    Thank you for your help.

Drive letter assignment is done by Windows.

Unfortunately this is bug in Windows mount point manager, thus there is nothing we could do about this.
You can try to set the virtual drive letter manually to some unused by any network assignment though.

        Hello,

        Thank you for your help.

I wonder if you could tell me if this problem in Windows is still there in Vista and the latest version of XP?
