  • dtagent.exe problem

    hi all,

    Software:
    XPProSP3
    DTProAdvanced v4.40.0311.0197 trial
    no firewall/defence/antivirus

    Hardware:
    MB A8N-SLI Deluxe
    CPU AMD 3000+
    1 GB 2x512MB Corsiar memory
    2x 7900gtx SLI

    problem:
when i add IDE devices from the command line ,dtagent.exe does do the job, but does not always exit when finished.
So i end up with dtagent.exe running multiple times in task manager. And yes i have waited 20 minutes for the first instance to end before i entered any other commands.

i can do the same for SCSI drives and do not have a problem, other than dtagent.exe can be a bit slow to exit after adding/removing drives, up to 30 seconds after you visibly see the drives removed from explorer.

    thanks

    tony

p.s i do have some windows services disabled.

Please give more details about what you were doing

      1) Was it a batch file or a direct command in CMD
      2) You were adding IDE devices via CMD one by one(i mean with a pause enough to finish previous "Add IDE device" operation) or simultaneously?
      3) Maybe something else that you think could be important

both straight from the command prompt and via a batch file.

        example:

        dtagent -set_count ide,2

then i wait for exit(in task manager), which for this example lets say it exits properly,so then i type

        dtagent -set_count ide,0

which removes the drives and exits fine, then i type

        dtagent -set_count ide,2

but now it still adds the drives fine but never exits.

and i wait for ever and some

        thanks

Well i have investigated your problem, it is reproducible on other machines, rarely, but it reproduces.

This problem is already in work.

          Thank you for your message.
