    Does anybody know what copy-protection
    is used in the game "KREED" made by Aclaim?

    did you try a-ray scanner? You can use this to identify copy protection on most discs.

      hi thanks for your answer.
      Yes i have used clonyxxl which has reported defekt sectors
      but as far as i can see there are only bad sektors.
      and using cloneCd to write the Image created a non usable Image.
      There must be more to this copy protection.
      I have just succeeded in makin a working Image of CD1 kreed
      using alcohol120% took 8 Hours!!!
      not so lucky with CD2 its stillin process after 14 Hours
      so far at 71% finished :oops:

        Do not use Clony as it is severely outdated these days. Use A-Ray or ProtectionID. And if it's just a truckload of bad sectors you can only tick 'fast error skip' with Alcohol and then wait... that's normal.

          @Robo
          You could have tried the 'Ringprotech+'-profile (but it's possible that a image read even with lower A.S.S. factor doesn't run), but now as you're almost finished :wink: Protection is called 3PLock.

            Thanks everybody for all your help.

            my CD2 kreed is still on cooking about
            20 Hours approx 87% hope it works after
            all of this.
            Any chance of a brief description how this
            3PLock protection works, you would think
            that no normal minded computer could read
            there silly CD's
            regards ROBO :mrgreen:

              BIG BIG SORRY, but i really forgot that you can start the game with both CD's :oops: Image creation of CD2 isn't necessary, shame on me.
              I've looked at an old thread where some (not all!) users reported that Kreed only worked with a burned image ('RingProtech+' profile + check 'Rectify Sub-Channel Data'), not a mounted one. Don't know whether it's essential to read Subchannel data and to rectify them when writing back (i fear it is).
