I almost never burn unless I have a problem with the cmoputer so I always use DT. I really don't want to test it right now because installing d2 takes forever, the install is really annoying. Thanks a lot for your help and I guess I'll come back when the new patch comes out

Just don't tell me what to do again please, I already made an image from the cd with DPM on SR 4.x/5.x NEW. Then I burnt it into a cd with RPMS option and enabled RPMS both in DT and in A120% and it still asks for a cd

You don't need DPM & RMPS for D2, just subchannel data.
Does it work if you enable SecuROM emulation and RMPS emulation (needed now, due to RMPS media)?

Strange. Try to create a backup (e.g. on cd-rw) with Alcohol using SecuROM new profile (i.e. NOT SecuROM new v4.x/v5.x profile!), check if it works from image, if it works ok write to cd-rw - ensure you write in RAW-DAO96 mode with Rectify subchannel data option NOT checked (should be autoselected by using SecuROM new profile during write in Image Burning Wizard).
Btw which writer do you use? Is it able to write in RAW-DAO96 mode?

I don't have that DAO96 option there. Just DAO.
                It's HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4480B.. that's all I know

You MUST use RAW DAO mode.

I used RAW DAO, just not RAW DAO96 which I don't have

I'll just go buy a new cd today, but I still want to know how to fix the problem so next time I don't have to waste money again

                        copying Diablo II game

I have a feeling your drive cannot read subcodes.

These are questions for anyone: Diablo II LoD expansion uses SecuROM 4.85.07.0171 but what version of SecuROM did the Diablo II CD use before any patches were released? And does fast dump work for some versions of SecuROM? Could that help TylerDurden in this case, seeing that he may not have created an image with the proper subcodes (of course SecuROM emulation option should be ticked via the tray icon)?

Fast dump is for SafeDisc only, NOT for SecuROM.
If the drive is unable to write subchannel data, SecuROM emulation should do the trick.

OK I got the new CD, what is the best way to apporach it. Do a copy of the CD or make an image of the cd first and then burn it into a cd? and how to I make the image work without a cd?

Just use Alcohol's Image Making Wizard, SecuROM new profile and wait untill the image is created, then remove the cd from your real drive and mount the image to the virtual one. Don't forget the drive letter problem. Check if it works from image.
