    well mate still if your mobo doesnt support hotswaping whatever you did wont really help i mean
    if you got that cable switch or if you got another power supply unit
    and switch it off or on while the pc is running and your mobo doesnt support hot swaping
    byebye it will restart so you would better check your mobo first

      i solved all of these dodgy bodge jobbings the easy way. external usb2 dvd+rw.

      want dvd? switch on drive. don't want dvd, switch off drive. no need for rebooting or assuring yourself of hotswap support on the mobo that way. ^^

          But you can easier unplug the external external usb2 dvd+rw.

            I do the same thing, playing with just an external USB DVD±RW. Fortunately, I only have one SF game, and I don't have to worry about SF on it anymore (and can finally play it under x64 now). I have no intention of buying anymore SF protected games, either. And with the way developers are dropping SF like hotcakes, we may not have to worry about it much longer.
