  • DT4 blacklisting

I wonder when DT4 gets blacklisted will that mean DT Pro will be blacklisted as well and could that mean that DT Pro will be blacklisted before it's even released?

Or do protection developers lately concentrate only on blacklisting SCSI devices (thus all virtual cd applications) and unlocking IDE devices?

  • #2
DT V4 and Pro share NOT the same core

Most lately protections blacklists SCSI and older versions
    of emulators (including old DT-versions)

Especially StarForce is a very strong protection. I must admit,
those people know what they're doing, my respect (from
    coders point of view)

bullshit - it is the same crap about SCSI. Stop spreading
rumours just by a look to a "nfo" of some warez-gurus.
Again, I also want to remind all users to NOT discuss about
warez-releases. We ban immediately in that case.

The thread that is in above post is gone, exactly because
always someone include that bullshit from warez-guys.
Those people use our work to profiliate themselfes and spread
games, this is not acceptable here. Post here your OWN ex-
periences and nothing you read on a warez-site (that has
also no respect for our work, as they are even searching for
crackers who will later crack DT Pro - I think that explain how
the brains of those people work)

Sorry about that. But unless you also tried that game you are make same asumptions as I did.

Those guys mostly do know what they are doing, no matter what they do. And information you pick in nfos is much more then a rumor and tends to be reliable. We'll see...

Btw how can you tell if SCSI is blacklisted or Daemon Tools is?

Re: how can you tell , blacklist

This is very general so you can apply it to more than just DAEMON Tools:

Make new program version see if it works. If yes then blacklist if no then general blacklist.

              Don't say that!!!
              Why ??
Because those Russians will quote you.
They will say, "Look everybody, we get respected by the DT team as the strongest protection around... blah blah blah...."

No doubt some of them are ex hackers and such.. I am only surprised that Sony et al has not offered to employ Venom or some of the other head programers. Maybe a matter of time ?

Sorry, I don't get it. But I asume if I disconnect all IDE devices and remove all applications for mounting like Alcohol and the image does work (can be played via other methods), but game doesn't, then DT4 is blacklisted.

Allthough it is kinda hard to believe, since DT4 was released on 14th, game was released on say 25th, that would have to mean that DT4 should have been blacklisted on day one, since preparing the master copy and before the box is ready usually takes about 2 weeks.

@ß: then they also admit that V4 broke the precious SF
every protection is nasty for the honor gamer, regardless if
sony or SF. Apart from that, their website is not that popular.
Usually, gamers don't tend to visit website of the guys that
make the life of customers much harder. Apart from that: I
respect the work - not what they do, but how. And it will not
stop, regardless if I respect them. I would not overestimate my
power and influence. It's not that I'm the pope of the
                  emulator-scene

however, you can believe me, that we will not see a buy-out
here DT is since ages a project of different peoples, we all
share the sources. This is to avoid exactly that. Only solution
would be to completely buy DT Team

The game that was mentioned does run from V4 - we got now
some feedback from users. The only thing is that you have to
use new shortcut, set compatibility to Win2000 and it should
run flawlessly. Such an easy solution - there you see the
"guys knowing their business" -> those people steal other
peoples work. They disrespect everything and everyone.
And spreading rumours - as we can see again here

                            ...

The game was mentioned with a downloaded (not bought) game so LocutusofBorg decided to not mention it (I don't know if he wants to bring it up again). I can give you an example of a game that needs that compatibility mode: The Matrix: Path of Neo Patch 1 when using it on x64.
