  • About Emulation using CDROM Stroage Class Driver

Well, I am not an experienced driver author but why do deamon tools are using SCSI miniport(port?) for CD emulation. I have seen a cd emulator using class driver approch (filedisk). Recently I have been developing it a lot, I have converted it into a WDM driver, added support for auto insert notification and working with Volume manager etc. I mean if we use this approch we will be trapping the requests from a userland s/w (or other driver? ) at a higher level in stack, b4 conversion to a SRB and then we can emulate it in any way we want, right?

Donno the real reason.... plz enlighten me!

    Thanks.

PS: I know D-Tools is the best emulation tool around, and have no intention of being disparing it and the team behind it.
As i said i am more of newbee in the driver development scenario so i just wanted to find few answers.
Working...
