For creating ISO Images you don't need a Writer, just a ROM Drive and an apropriate "Tool". :mrgreen:

Nearly every Burn APP can create Images.

Hi im using nero 6.6 to write iso files
nero saves its image files as standard *.nrg
so you only need toochange it to *.iso
although one cannot make an *.iso image /file
if it contains music (as in music CD) plus data files ie PC.
but the *.nrg can and guess what the super duper DAEMON-Tools
can also load *.nrg

As I know you can create isos with nero. Just select "save track" from the extras menu. Within the window select the file type iso instead of nrg. And click "go". Tadaaam!

There are programs like "WinISO", which can only handle iso's. WinISO is a good program. You can use "mkisofs" if you know how it works.
