How to make Crysis mini image
Collapse

I am still testing. One thing though is that the first time I try to oad the image in Daemon Tools lite, yes after hiding securom checks with YASU, it times out and when I retry, the game loads. Why is that ?
Anyway I will soon start with the steps for making the mini image as suggestde by SuppA-SnipA. Let's see what happens.

Helo,
Just wanted to say that I tried the method suggested by SuppA-SnipA exactly but it didnt work for me. I did burn with Securom, High DPM Precesion and DPM measuring speed of 1.x speed only, and still it didnt work.
My version is the Indian English Edition which is nothing but a carbon copy of the US Retail English only Edition.
My original .mds file size was 51.9 k. But it didnt work. However when I tried the 12 Kb .mds file provided by Terramex, it worked! Thanks very very much Terramex.

Depending on your language version one of the attached MDS files might work for you.
If not then please upload your original "DPM-less" MDS file.
I will inject the DPM information of another version into your file as all versions mostly share the same data positions.
could be his drive not being up for the job...
but this tutorial is meant for all versions of the game

try at 24 X and leave precision at high, if not, give it a shot with normal, like i've said, this may vary with drive build quality, is it a legit disc?as i also have no idea what errors you would get with a copied disc, nor do i want to know (this is for legit purposes, and im not bashing you or anything)

i can not edit, so i must tell everyone, use the latest Alcohol 120% version 1.9.7.6022, people may be using older versions, that could cause problems, update and try again

your drive quality can matter too, so take that into consideration, and if your ripping from a burnt copy, i dont believe that will work

Suppa,
I didn't get to the mini part of the instructions since it didn't pass the first part where I was to verify that the full 5.7gb file would run without the CD. It did not, as I mentioned in my post.
I do not have a special edition, just a plain old PC-DVD. My install is patched to v1.1
Now, I did my game install using the actual DVD, not the ISO virtual DVD. I installed the game before I decided to try to create a virtual DVD. Does that matter?
Dave
