  • SecurDisc protection

Does anyone know if DAEMON Tools or any other disc emulation program can allow you to backup SecurDisc protected discs.

    SecurDisc FAQ

They have features such as protected PDF files that will only open if you have the original disc. If you have a copied disc, the PDF file will fail to open anymore (so they claim).

When they manufacture new CD and DVD drives nowadays they are even certifying them for securdisc compatibilty. Nero 8 has the built-in ability too.

We've been carrying the LG drives at work with the SecurDisk feature. From that link, however, it appears that it requires InCD to operate. Guess I'll never use that feature. I wouldn't have InCD, DirectCD, Drag-To-Disc or ANY packet-writing software installed on my PC. Far too many problems arise from them.

Given the nature of this (user-level copy protection, basically), I'm doubtful if DT will support it. Not sure if anyone else has found a way around it yet, though.

exact - we dont have interest on such kind of (user-level)-protection. Where is sense in this? If of course such things are requested by our users - why not??
