  • DT4 what is here?

    ok not bashing so understand this first off i support DT crew in whatever they put out, all im asking is what new support was added to v4 ?

    as in do i still need to use the sfcure crap(im sure i do till pro)
    as in do i still need sd4hide?
    as in do i still need sr7stop?

    i know theyre not finished with the ide and im very supportive of the fact you all held off instead of releasing something crappy, so Whooah for that one. anyhow all im curious about is the above questions. because ive ran it and am useing it now and it seems to me i still need to load these to play the sd and sr games? and i was under the impression that DT4 would support ALL copy prot's?

    Almost every new copy protection has blacklisted the SCSI drive, even if they are real or not.
    So you still need to unplug your present IDE-drives.
    They are working on a IDE-Jammer.

    Read the Notes regarding the 4.0 release.

      You don't need the sfcure "crap". Neither sd4hide. And sr7stop can rest in pieces.

          so the new version is nothing but a new ad-ware version that is not black listed?

              Yes, the Pro version will be different. I'm assuming that since you pay for it, it will not include any adware. Also, it is IDE-based, not SCSI-based, so the IDE jammer will not be necessary. I'm sure there's a slew of other improvements.

              @BadIronTree:
              Right now DT4 does not include the IDE jammer (should be added soon) or 64-bit support (again, should be added soon). So don't judge it too harshly yet.

                  SCSI is easier to emulate.

                    IDE is considerably hardier to emulate than SCSI. As far as I am aware, there are no other emulators that are IDE-based. Alcohol is also a SCSI-based.

                      Alcohol has licensed Daemon Tools. It's the same code (with some changes, of course).

                        I wondered why the Alcohol port name was oddly similar to the DT port name... I guess that explains it.
