  • Reboot because of starforce

    hi @all!

im using the new dt4.00. with my codename panzers: phase 2 image (mdf/mds) my computer reboots everytime.

after unplugging dvd-rom, i start the game and starforce is checking the "cd". this takes about 10 seconds, and after that my computer reboots instantly. i dont know what it is. xeroxide had the same problem http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/t678...starforce.html and nobody was able to help him.

    my hardware:
    athlon 64 3000+
    gigabyte k8n-ultra9
    2*512 DDR400 geil
    128 GF6600GT PCIe
    2*200 SATA-Raid
    DVD-RW and DVD-ROM (both on IDE-0)
    Win XP SP2

    other games work!

    hope, anybody can help me

List of DAEMON Tools 4 reboot questions

    How are your drives connected?
    Serial ATA?
    RAID?
What's the name of your motherboard's IDE chipset? (maybe gigabyte ____ some model # I don't know about gigabyte mobo's)
Where is the image file (if you're rebooting because of a mounted image) located?

What if you try changing image file locations (mount over a network fileshare instead, mount from a cd instead, mount from a HD instead, etc. )?

my HDDs are connected to Serial ATA (Raid 0 nforce4 chip)
      optical drives to IDE
the IDE-chipset is part of the nforce4 chipset, i suppose
the board has a N-Force4 ultra Chipset

      my windows runs at D:
the image is located at G:, but i dont reboot after mounting the image

mounting over network is not possible, because i dont have any network here. and i cant mount it over cd, because then starforce will tell me to "put the cd into another drive".

      thanks for your answer
hope youve got any other ideas

nvidia RAID - pointing to thread Scsi Nvidia Driver Under Raid x DT4 restart the PC

Well I guess you're having the same problem that other people are having using nvidia RAID. Here's the main thread on the issue. I don't have any suggestions ATM.

you were right, its the same problem.
i have fixed it by mounting the image from my usb-hdd.
          now it works :-)
