  • BSOD after problem with sd4hide

    Hello all,

This is my first post here and I am in big trouble. I used sd4hide but had some problem with it while closing and crashed. After reboot I cannot run that WinXP anymore and I get a BSOD everytime, no matter if I run safe mode or what.

Thankfully I had another WinXP in another hard disk and I have been able to determine that it must be some problem with my SYSTEM hive in the registry (changing it with an old SYSTEM hive allowed me to reboot and get to login screen, though only to get to a screen with no icons no nothing but the wallpaper and mouse pointer). but I have no clue as to what to do to fix it. I have found sdbackup.reg but it has some HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP entries, but given HARDWARE is a volatile entry in the registry I think sdbackup will not help me too much.

Here are the codes for my stop problem:
    STOP 0x0000007B

    info fields:
    0xF7C7D63C
    0xC000000E
    0x00000000
    0x00000000

I have no minidump, so I am not sure this could be helpful.

Do you have any clue to help fix the registry? Is there any forum on the net about sd4hide where I could find some help?
Would a WinXP reinstall (without formatting, just intalling "on top") help?

    Any help would be nice.

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I just found I posted in wrong forum... please would any mod move this post to "Copy protections"?.

    Sorry again.
