  • Software to Remove IDE?

As we all know, Starforce workarounds require you to unplug your IDE optical drives. My question is this..
Is there any software that can take care of this, and make it appear to the system as though an optical drive doesn't exist? It seems like it would save the time of getting in the case every time.

    Thanks,
    Nickolas

SF nightmare is able to disable your IDE, but it won't remove it... SF is able to see your optical IDE drives even if they are disabled via the bios... except on certain motherboards, God knows why.
In fact, there is today no software ways to remove IDE...

SCSI Blacklists - or why some perfect images won't run with Daemon Tools v4

against Starforce <=3.4 - you sometimes can hide your optical IDE drives with a software utility

With Starforce 3.5+, even if you manage to hide your optical IDE drives via software Starforce will still be able to detect them and only physically unplugging them will work.

In the sticky: Guide to using extra programs/addons/tools/registry hacks with the latest games

it mentions that StarForce versions 3.5-3.6 are the versions that "cannot be fooled by SFN".
