The whole Sims 2 set

I recently "came across" all 5 of the Sims 2 packs, and I was wondering if there were in special steps to consider, since I'll be creating backups and using those to play the game. I understand that eventually I'll run into SafeDisc; I have DaemonTools, Alcohol, and something called SD_Hider. I also went ahead and downloaded UnSafeDisc. Any pointers?
