This is an old game. Installed it ok, but there's a problem now...
When I try to play it pops up a screen that have to insert my 1st cd and opens the cd tray by itself. The image is mounted, what could be the problem?
Did you install the game from another drive? The game may only run from the drive letter it was installed from. Also, it may only run from the first CD-ROM drive letter, try playing around with the drive letters in the drive management.

I had the same problems, but it turned out, that broken sword 1 just isn't compatible with Win XP. I dl'ed ScummVM at scummvm.org and got it running in no time. Might be worth a try for you.
