playing 1:1 copy of Cd not working

Hey all, I know mounting the image off the harddrive and running them using Daemon tools works for games, but how come i can't get it to work if I burn the game to CD? Games like Homeworld 2 and C&C generals, for instance, don't play off the 1:1 CD, but off the image its fine. Is there a way to make it work?

Depends upon your burning software, I think. THe bast used to be CloneCD, but now almost everyone (including me) swears by Alcohol.
