plese help,problem with brian lara cricket 2007

my dvd rom reads the game dvd ,but when i try to install the game the following error message appears when file copying starts:
data error<cyclic rebundancy check> and the setup ends.
the dvd runs fine on my laptop,my dvdrom is asus e616p3{its about 2 years old} and it works fine with other dvds.
i think the problem is related to the starforce protection on the dvd.

CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) errors usually mean that there's an unrecoverable read error on the disc, i.e. some data cannot be read, be that due to a scratched disc or due to a faulty drive. It should not be related to StarForce.
