"Cannot locate the CD-ROM"

I've been using Daemon Tools for a while without any issue, but I've just tried to install and run two games in two days and gotten the same strange error, so I'm wondering what's up.
Basically, I'm mounting the images, installing the program from them (without any errors whatsoever), and then trying to run the program immediately afterwards, from the same virtual drive... and for both games it gives me the exact same error: "Cannot locate the CD-ROM: Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application".

This happens even when I try to run the game directly from the mounted CD by clicking play from the little autorun splash screen, which confuses me.

I'm running Daemon Tools 3.47, and I've tried turning on all the copy protection emulation options...
are these just bad images? all the others I've previously installed still seem to run fine...

Which games? How did you created these images? You don't need emulation options.

Also for gaming you should upgrade to Daemon Tools 4.09.1.
