I've just updated GRID to 1.1 and I noticed the SecuROM disc check is a lot quicker now. I don't even see the spinning disc icon anymore, the game starts instantly.
did you checked that securom is still included? Sometimes
gamepublishers remove afterwards all checks when game is
already some time available
That would be strange, because the game was released only a few weeks ago. But I tried without mounting my image and the typical SecuROM 'No disc' error popped up. And as stated by Blazkowicz, SecuROM is updated to v7.37.0008 in this patch.
But I'm not complaining, I like this quick disc check
