  • Help with Sacred?

    I have the game and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what options I need to use to create an image with (using alch 120%). I ask because I created an image with the default options for securom *new( 4.x/5.x);
    reading at 20x speed.

I've tried mounting the image with dtools, w/out emulation, with securom and RMPS options turned on...

The game launches fine if I have the orig CD in the drive, even though dtools is running, so I don't think it's a blacklist issue...

I'm not asking about warez. I own the game, I just hate having to keep the CD in the drive all the time (just to make sure there aren't any misunderstandings

I've also tried creating an image using the default options for VOBProtectCD v5.

And I tried running the game with the new image (protectCD v5) with all of the emulation options enabled, and all of them disabled. I have yet to try reinstalling dtools and changing the ID's, which I'm about to go do...

When I run protectID on sacred.exe, this is what it gives me:
    File Type : Exe, Size : 3597642 (036E54Ah) Bytes
-> File has 2400666 (024A19Ah) bytes of appended data starting at offset 01243B0h
[!] VOB Protect CD [modified version] detected !
    - Scan Took : 0.797 Seconds

Edit: Both dtools and alcohol now use non-standard IDs...still no luck. The game still starts fine if I have the CD in...

You've to uninstall Alcohol, 'till upcoming version fixes the blacklist, and use Daemon Tools v3.46. Also ensure you don't use CloneCDs virtual drive and/or hide ATIP! Disable all emultaions while playing from image.
Everybody be cool! You, be cool!
They'll keep fighting! And they'll win!

          Help

Im sorry to say I am a general noob when it comes to stuff like this. I need a backup copy of sacred so I dont carry it around with me back and forth from home and GF house.

This is what I have done so far.

Used CloneCD to create a n image to my HD. Then I used Daemon to mount that image. Then used CloneCD to copr to CD-R. Didnt work. What am I do wrong. Flame away and let me know what Im doing wrong.

          Thanks

you're using the wrong program. Sacred is ProtectCD-protected and CloneCD
isn't capable to deal with that protection. Use Alcohol120% instead (you can
use a 30-day-trial version); set profile to "VOB ProtectCD" and re-create
image. Than de-install Alcohol, as it's blacklisted currently (but for sure it gets
updated soon). Than mount image with DT 3.46

              You da Man!!!

              Uninstalled CloneCD
Used Alcohol120% to create an Image.
Unistalled Alcohol120% (Then like a mofo realized I didnt make a back-up copy with Alcohol120%)

Figured wth. Ill try the Alcohol Image with the CloneCD backup.

              WOOHOO it worked!!!!

Aaaa... if only every tech support was like this. AND ITS FREE!!!

              Thank you.

Uninstalling Alcohol is a must, at least to v1.4.8 build 1222 so far. I too couldn't get it to run with d-tools until this was done and now I can even get it to work with the latest Sacred patch too (v1.5). It only worked with v1.5 by having the image on the hdd and mounting it. Using a burned backup did not work.
