  • Emulating DVD Drives?

Alright here's the thing. Just yesterday i bought the 5.1 DVD Audio version of the Album Once. which is by Nightwish. Anyway as i dont have a DVD drive on my comp (because they are about to become extinct anyway) i was wondering if it would be possible to make an image file of the DVD on a comp at school and emulate it via Daemon?

PS: I wasnt stupid enough to buy the DVD for the comp alone. I DO have a DVD reader for my television but only 5.1 speakers for the comp so lay off the Read before you Buy Comments

PPS: If this in any way violates any of the rules at the forum then by all means delete it.

you can create an image with alcohol 120% (and resquest to split it in pieces little than cdrom size), than transfer them to your HD and mount the image .

dvd decryper might generate also split images.

I don't know if it works with dvd audio

Where did you read/figure this out from? Either holographic storage has finally gone mainstream, or im really out of the loop here about something. Not to troll on the forum or anything, but what exactly are they going to replace the soon to become extinct DVD drive with?

I didnt think alcohol could back up copy protected audio dvds, but then i think i remember that was more specific about securom or something like that on it, so nevermind. Been awhile since i used alcohol for anything. Still im interested in hearing why you think DVD drives are going out the window.

      Ratha

EDIT: Im not sure how alcohol would split the images, but winrar does a nice job of splitting things, least the original image wouldnt be spanned, but i dont know if thats a problem or not so *shrug*
