OK,
here we go:
create the image the usual way with alcohol(used for all cds) or blindwrite(specially used for hl2).
then fire up regedit --> go to hkey_local_machine --> hardware --> devicemap --> scsi: there should be some folders called scsi port 1,2,.... ; find the one which belongs to daemon tools, look for something like d347port
now comes the interesting part: rightclick on the folder "scsi port 1" (or 2,3, the one for daemon tools) and change the allowances (in german it is berechtigungen) and disable read acces for everyone and administrator
and now your images should work: tested with half-lfe 2, locomotion, sims2, warhammer 40k : Dawn of War

and i got all of these games as genius originals
one last note: it seems that this has to be redone after every windows start
