why is copying soooooo slow?

hey guys, i used daemon tools before, but i never made a copy of a disc.

im using alch 120, and trying to copy Rise of Nations, I choose SafeDice 2/3, or even just Safedisc from the drop down, but it takes FOREVER plus i get a logfile spammed with cannot read sectors or something... I let if go for about 15 minutes it got about 5% done, and it said it was only going at 0.2x... my burner is a 52x read 24x write, although i dont think write speed matters? anyway, im just wondering why in the hell is it going so slow?

it is normal; its part of the protection. The driver might take 1 hour to read the 10 first %, and 5 minutes for the rest.
Be patient and try again (or reverse) :p

jees, the insane amount of time it takes to make a copy would make anything think twice about pirating games lol too bad for us to want to legally make copys of our games.

Certainly your burner does not support fast skip....!!!!
Just use a slower speed for reading that cd....might sometimes be faster in skipping those errors :mrgreen:
