  • Project Snowblind Help!

Seems that Project Snowblind is using secuROM 7 for it's protection. And I can't find a way to make Daemon Tools or anything else to work with it... Anyone know anything about getting around secuROM 7?

I wonder if it makes a difference that the secuROM on Snowblind is just a tad bit newer?

nope, didn't matter! at first it didn't work, until I read down the other thread and realized I had to make 2 shortcuts for the registry...

but after that it worked fine. Only side-effect: random crashings... I have no idea if it's the game or my machine. But it's not frequent at all, so I'll put up with it for now.

          thanks a lot!

Well acme, try again. You might be missing a step, or you bought you're version of project snowblind in a different region, so you're copy protections differ.

i dont know the region. but im in the us. the forum basically says change the permissions of the virtual drive, doesn't work, i check deny, but allow is still checked. maybe i gotta do this through administrator in safemode or someshit?

Did you change the permissions using the registry?

                    Snowblind slow

I worked through the steps to set the permissions and the images runs fine through the intro movies. Once it starts to load the startup scree, every thing seems to get reaaaaly slow.

First I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue with Daemon tools itself, the DVD image, or something on my PC. Any thoughts, suggestions are welcome.

It may be that your computer cant play this game, because thats how it sounds. However, it might be that Securom has detected you trying to bypass it or whatever and decided to activate its trigger functions, screwing up the game. Either way, I don't have the answer. Try installing the newest drivers on your graphics card and applying the newest patch on the game. Thats all I could think of, sorry

I got my backup of Project Snowblind to run. However, I had the same performance issue as the two others. But, it COULD NOT have been my hardware since I have:

                          1. WinXP Pro SP2
                          2. Abit IS7 865PE
                          3. P4 2.8E@3.4ghz
                          4. 1GB DDR400 dual-channel
                          5. BFG 6800GT OC@Ultra-flashed, 420/1150
                          6. Creative Audigy 2 ZS

It turns out that the nVIDIA 71.84 dirver is incompatible with the game. Once I switched to the 76.41 driver, the game ran very smoothly at 12x10 with 4xAA, 8xAF.
                          WinXP Pro SP2, Abit IS7 865PE, P4 2.8E@3.4ghz, 1GB DDR400, 6800GT@Ultra-flashed, 420/1100

Hello Community,my first Post with a Problem:

Will use a Copy from Snowblind, but I have a Problem:
Following Error occurs:unable to mount Image Unable to open File in Kernelmode

So im very confused,my very first Problem with Dtools.

                            Can anyone help me please?
This Problem I get on two PCs,one is a AMD 3200 with Satadisk and the other is a P4 2,6 with Raidcontroller(nonraid)on a Gigabyte 845PE Chipset.
But I dont think, that Raidcontroller is the Problem.

Thanks a lot for some Help

OK, some more Infos about my Problem. My Image is a Blindwrite Image,it has three Files, think it will be OK, because when I burn It, it works perfect.

But I will not burn it, I will mount it, nothing else, and only with D-Tools.
I have never ever had Problems with mounting Images with D- Tools, this is the very first Time.
I have tried all the Tricks with Registry, but these are Tricks to run the Game.
My Error says something other(unable to open in Kernelmode), so I think, my Error is not my Image, its also not a Problem with D-Tools,cause ive seen other Guys, which can mount Snowblind with D-Tools.

Hope, this will be more specific
