  • Problems getting San Andreas to work

Operating System: xp sp1 all updates except sp2
    Burning Software: nero/alcohol 1.9.2 build 1705
Anti-virus Software: norton internet security 2004
    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.47

    Hello,

usually if I make an image of a game I choose the protection (for example: securom, safedisc etc.) in alcohol and thats it. My problem is that I can only choose these settings if the game is on a CD. If it is on a DVD (just like San Andreas) those settings arent available. The only setting thats available is "Ignore Errors".

I tried it anyway and made an image. If I start the Game in a virtual drive of daemon tools it says: "Please eject the disc and put it in a different Drive.".
If I start the game using alcohols virtual drive it says: "Emulator Found! Please deactivate all virtual drives and emulator software.".

Has anybody an idea how to fix that problem? I'd be happy about any help.

    Greetings

Update your Alcohol version, it's outdated and blacklisted.

I made an image with dpm enabled. I couldn't start the image even with rmps enabled in daemon tools. I tried to burn it on a DVD but the RMPS thing in alcohol wasn't available :?: (i updated alcohol) well I burned it anyway and if I start it I get this error: "Original Disc not found.".

Use settings DPM high and reading speed at maximum, alcohol installed in expert mode (changing the drivers names, same with the virtual drive). Install your game from the virtual drive. Latest versions of SecuRom do blacklist the virtual cd-rom drives. A anti-black soft may help in this case.

i gues i've got a blacklist problem. try quickmount (3rd partiy addons) to deny access on the well-known registry entries.

The only thing that's needed to remove the blacklisting is to change the value of 1 registry entry (as it was before), no need to mess around with permissions and all that stuff. The other problems are not related to Daemon Tools itself, the problem is that they have blacklisted all SCSI devices, and Securom asks to insert the disc on the first IDE drive found, exactly like Starforce does, so you need to disable the IDE devices first. In fact, they have gone even further: if you have AnyDVD running, the latest Securom titles won't run even from the original discs.

                Which one ?

Do you mean that with this modification and for example starfuck you are able toplay GTA san Andreas if yse that will be usefull for a lot of people.

                Thanks

I don't want to sound rude, but what's the freakin' problem? Is this a secret or something?
To contact me privately, pray. I might answer.
