Ok, I understand that it will not be out today and that is I HOPE good news. Because what I have read on other forums is starting to scare me a little .

    Netsoerfer can you deny this:

From some guys on some forum:
"I can now make it official.

    DT4 is a FUCKING JOKE.

Seriously, it's like spot the difference with version 3.47.

It will NOT run starforce 3.**, Securom 7 or Safedisc 4 games without other programs helping to hide IDE drives.

A quote from VeNoM386, an admin over there:

"Not only Starforce, but latest Securom and SafeDisc seem do not accept anything else if you have IDE drive in your system. This issue is still not resolved in current release and being worked on. We decided not to delay release because of this.
Disconnect all your real IDE CD/DVD devices or try to use some "hiding" tools."

"To be clear, DT4 was released to paying cutomers yesterday.
The site has a customer only download area and forum.

There is a LOT of moaning and dissappointment on the customer forum regarding the lack of changes in this release.

They seem to be keeping the info away from the public side ATM.
(Hell, they kept it from customers too, until yesterday, and even then they just said "hey it's ready for download" without any further word. They only acknowledged that newer protections weren't working unaided when loads of people had complained about it).

Supposedly, the public release is this week, but there is talk of this being postponed. (There are even fanboys there advising the dev team against a public release at present, because they fear the public backlash)."

It seems guys that we had high hopes for nothing

I hope this is false. Because I am going to buy DTools 4.0 or Pro, which ever is the best. And this is very disheartening to read something like this on another forum. Please tell us that this is false. If this is true, what went wrong?

    Thank you,

    MD

Wow, all this time and they release it with no X64 support. That's assbackward. Then main reason people was tripping out is beacaus there was no X64 support? 3.47 was enogh for X32 users. People are griping about not being able to use in X64.

Speak only for yourself. DTv3 needed Anti-Blacklisting tools for running the latest copy protections, which rendered more than just the occasional system unstable. Now all that's needed for running those games is an IDE jammer - which will be needed for each and every SCSI-based drive, be it physical or virtual.

Apart from that, the x64 version isn't far behind the i386 version. We're doing final tests now, and hope (hope!) to have it released by the end of the week.

If that's not good enough for you... Think about what you would have said if DTv4 x64 had screwed up your system only because we'd released it prematurely.

Actually, it does work with said protections, some you will still have to manually "unplug" your Cd/DVD drives, at least for now.

And yes, i've been testing several games, rephrase that, I have been testing a TON of games. so far, 50+ (lost count, gets old counting and switching)

But I am also guessing, if you have an imperfect image, you may be required to enable some emulation options as well, not just RMPS, hell, enable them all. I do, works just as well.
No, you cannot have my signature, unless you pay me. I am famous you know.

You'll only need emulation for imperfect CD-R copies, not for images.

By the way, the one thing from MistressDeath's post I'm willing to comment, the fact that an IDE jammer is needed (oh and by the way, this has been posted all over the place by now):

Daemon Tools v4 is a SCSI-based virtual drive software. As most new copy protections simply block all SCSI drives if they find an optical IDE drive, you'll need an IDE jammer to play from a SCSI drive. You'd need it if you had optical IDE drives but wanted to play from a SCSI DVD drive too, so this has absolutely nothing to do with Daemon Tools.
