I have Image (on my internal harddrive) mounted in Alcohol120% on a Clevo D470W Laptop with CD/DVD Drive removed. I use Firewire External drive for all burning etc so it is only turned on when burning.
I have sfn turned on automatically and Image mounts automatically when I reboot so all I do is run game when computer starts.
ziph, I daresay your method may work for some freak reason on your computer but very probably won't work on other machines. Using the disable CD function repeatedly seems to mess with your system somehow, but in general, it should be as efficient to get games running as a headstand performed left from the computer.
I don't mean to discredit anyone's wish to help others, don't get me wrong. But these methods are rather unreproducable, which is why I sometimes comment them in such a way as now. I guess all hell would break loose here if there was a serious discussion about why this doesn't work on someone else's computer.
"I was inappropriately blunt, wasn't I? Sorry, I do that a lot."

lol...thats funny.
Just sharing what works for me, as a lot of people seem to be having trouble with this game. If it works for even one person, then I feel it was worth posting. No offence taken.
For what it's worth, I just tried this method on another computer on my LAN, and it works there as well. Different chipset, different CPU. Think I'll try for a hatrick.
Well...found another way to play without unplugging...
after installing however you want...
1. Mount the image.
2. Launch sfn
3. disable node
4. disable cd
5. disable cd again
6. disable cd AGAIN
This works every time for me. The image is on an ide drive.
I tried your method ziph but it didn't work for me. Only way I made it work w/o removing cables is disabling ATA in sfn.
Have anyone else tried this method?
Hmmm...Yeah, I just tried it on an nforce4 board and it didn't work, yet it workes on my old kt600 board, my K8T890 board and my girlfriends SiS755FX. Must be like NetSoerfer said, it wont work for all...Oh well....at least I can put my disc away in storage now
This is how it works for me without unplugging IDE cables:
1. Created 1-1 image in Alcohol 120% (high DPM, speed 1x)
2. Mounted image in DTv4. Set RMPS emulation (others not needed)
3. Installed game and SF drivers.
4. Patched game to v1.1 (SF driver 3.6.10.06)
5. Disabled CD and ATA (!) in SFN (ATA has to be disabled)
6. Run game.
i'm trying that one. and i see all you guys talking a bout SFN.
what is it , and where can i download it?
when i disable ATA, I get blue screen, and my pc crashes :
This is because your hard disk is also attached to ATA interface. I believe that you could try trick like this: put your hard disk on RAID controler on MB. How you do this? Enable RAID in BIOS and select your hard disk. Use JBOD mode which should work with single disk. This way your hard disk will be on RAID controler and when you disable ATA computer will not crash.
This is just a theory. I never tried this on my own since I have 2 disks in RAID 0.
1. Created 1-1 image in Alcohol 120% (high DPM, speed 1x)
1.5 Mount images (DT 4.03)
2. Installed game and SF drivers.
3. The install key : check this www.gt-legends.com/support_en.php, (If you bought your game in MEXICO and are experiencing any problem with the keys printed on your manual, please try using this StarForce installation key when prompted to enter a key after installation.)
4. Run the game!!!!!! Without unplug any drive.

You need to unplug your ide drives so you can't insert a DVD when you want to play gt legends using an image. So it's impossible to burn the image on a dvd and mount this image to pay the game. You can use this method for Securom or Sfedisk protected games but not for Sarforce.
