What happens if you use your original CD?
What program did you use and what settings did you select to create the image file you're mounting with DAEMON Tools?

This isn't a known problem, you should provide more information so someone can help you.

Some games work without an original CD in multiplayer, although I doubt that'll be the case with CoD2. You might try if multiplayer works without CD though, just to be sure.

If that's the case, it's probably just a bad image. If not, we definitely need more information, as Underheaven already explained.

CoD2 Singleplayer on DVD is Safedisk 4 protected - you will need SD4Hider. See my post on Alcohol 120% Forum for running the game with one-click - you will need Daemon Tools as well for this.
