MDS file are always very small and yet very important. That file describes many things about the original disc that aren't saved into the .mdf file itself. If you are familiar with CloneCD, think of it as a CCD file (a similarly small yet useful index file).

I know...i tried emulating each file...both with no luck...VWdemon did it but didnt mention anything about a .mdf file , so im thinking something is going wrong when it states that problem about the DPM...

Yes...but I tried emulating both files with no luck...I think maybe it has something to do with that DPM problem it states...but here is a link to the thread that has provided me with all of my help/knowledge thus far...

and again: from WHICH DEVICE you made your image?

                Example given: SAMSUNG DVD-RW

                something like this!

Which DEVICE you use to read from the original-disk?

How can we help you if your info lacks that VERY important
                information?

The DPM is absolutely necessary here!

You are obviously desperate to play this game, I know mounting an image is the preferred method but is there any reason why you can't use the original CD?

                    Dont know??

I don't have the original cd...I downloaded axis and allies as a torrent file from utorrent...then i extracted the .rar files with ExtractNow...now they are .iso files...(vw demon said to get alchohol and use the image maker to turn it into a .mds file)..so i got a trial version of alchohol 120% and did so, exactly as he explained. I ended up with a 1kb .mds file and a unexpected 850,774 .mdf file...i tried emulating them anyway with no success...i tried emulating the .iso's as well...

I used alchohol 120% to create my new image from my .iso from my torrent file. any way i try it...i keep running into the screen "insert original and not a backup"...

when i create my image from my .iso file...alchohol says "cannot get the right dpm info from the disk with current device." --- and i dont know what this means...???

Any ideas??? If you need more info. from me try to speak in a little less technical terms...cuz i get confused somewhat easily..like i think ur asking me what my cd/dvd burner is?? and i dont know unless its Atapi..if thats even a brand..so my guess is Atapi cd/dvd burner..?
