"Error reading CD, dirty/stratched?"

I mounted a .mds file and upon trying to install the game, I get a message saying the CD is scratched.

This is my first time trying to mount a virtual drive, so pardon my idiocy.

Does installing from the original CD/DVD work? What game? Was your original CD scratched when you made the disc image?

I don't have the original CD, and the game is Postal 2. Also I would try burning the image to disc, but alas I stupidly don't have a drive that can burn on this computer.
