  • Daemon Tools 101

My username says it all, I'm very new to this software but I'm excited about learning more but bare with me as the lingo you all use and know may be new to me however I promise to be a quick learner.

    Objective:

To play FF7 without the disks.

    Problem:

Keeps giving me the "Insert disk" message. I understand that using Daemon Tools will enable me to play without the disks and help me avoid using disk cracks.

    In the Begining:

I was unable to install the 4.x versions of DT due to an odd error saying it only works on 32 bit even though I'm using windows XP. I tried both available 4.x versions with no success until I ultimately downloaded a slightly older version in the 3.x range and it installed without any hangups. I rebooted and began navigating the software.

    Current Stage: Usage

I'm unable to figure out how to get started and after reviewing the help files, it seems logical that I must Mount an Image (also known as an ISO? Is this right?) I've been unsuccessful in finding an image in the installed ff7 dirrectory and thus, my first dilema.

Can anyone help a hardcore newbie out with some getting started tips?

    Thanks!
Working...
